Welcome to London

On the 15th May 2004 the Fluffy Rally came to London.

In a departure from the 2001 rally, where teams used there own vehicles to get them from A* to B**, this year each team was dependant on foot power and the ever reliable public transport system to get them around this fair city.

The ten teams met at 08:30 in Trafalgar Square where they sized each other up and, after a starter quiz to get their brains in motion, received their instructions for the day.

The rally was split into two halves, part 1 Britney, and part 2 Dave. Teams would receive there instructions for Dave at lunch.. if they could decipher exactly where lunch would be!

As teams entered Britney it became immediately apparent just how big she was!

Each team was provided with a Fluffopoly board and informed that their objective for the day was to score as many points as they could. They did this by answering cryptic clues, completing challenges and by performing specific tasks at the locations on the Fluffopoly board.

The Fluffopoly Board: Each square on the board represented a location in London where each team could potentially score points. However, none of these locations were labeled. Teams needed to fathom these locations from the encoded and often cryptic clues provided in their questions document.

Location questions: Figuring out what the locations were was the first step. The next step was to visit those locations and search high and low for answers to questions which could only be found AT that location. Teams were not required to visit, and the locations were not presented, in any specific order. This is where a good strategy became important. Some location questions were blindingly obvious whilst others were pretty well hidden.

Britney : In addition to the Fluffopoly board Britney also provided teams with the additional challenge of a Who am I? quiz (45 pictures of famous faces of the past, present and future) and a Lyrics quiz (lines from 40 different songs of different decades and genres).

After a well deserved lunch break in Hyde Park which included a race on bicycles meant for 3 year old children and a rowing race on the Serpentine, teams continued with the rally and did battle with Dave.

Dave gave the teams, armed with digital cameras, the opportunity to explore their more creative and daring sides. Whilst continuing to complete as much of the board as possible several locations gave the teams the opportunity to take specific board photos such as dancing with the fountains at Somerset House.

Each team was also required to take 10 compulsory photos, select 7 optional photos from a list of 20, and visit 5 property locations where they needed to hug a complete stranger. Finally teams needed to complete an albums cover quiz (45 defaced and debranded album covers).

A complete list of the all the challenges can be found in the challenges section. You can find out how each team performed in the results section.
